I'm trying to figure out ways to capture well focused images of birds in flight.  Here are some results (a few not in flight):

November 3, 2017: Exploring flash lighting ideas

Early work produced rather harsh and heavy colors.  Here I'm trying to use color flash - putting a colored gel in front of each flat.  The results are improving.

November 3, 2017: Trying to do the impossible - keep squirrels out of the bird feeder

This started as a fun project -  feed the birds and try to capture birds in flight.   However, as with almost all bird feeders -  the squirrels figured out how to penetrate the "squirrel-proof" bird feeder.    Here is my latest design and results:

The original design:

Bird feeder with wire hanger.  Above, a funnel and 16" pizza pan.  The idea is to make the pizza pan difficult to get to and its teflon coating makes it slippery. 

On the sidelines is a squirrel enjoying a peanut
